Chickenpox Treatments
If you’re unsure whether your child has chickenpox or if they
seem
particularly unwell, you should talk to your doctor or
pharmacist.
And if your baby is very young or your child has immunity
problems,
you should always seek medical advice.
For most children, their own bodies will overcome the
chickenpox
virus in a matter of days so treatment is aimed at easing
symptoms.
Paracetamol or ibuprofen can help ease fever, headache and
aches
and pains but you should NEVER give aspirin to a
child as this can
be very dangerous. Calamine lotion and antihistamines are
often
used to try to relieve the itch but calamine lotion is messy, can
be
difficult to apply and will probably provide only temporary
relief.
Antihistamines have no direct cooling or soothing action and
are
often not suitable for small children.
Unlike these traditional treatments, Care ViraSoothe Chickenpox
Relief Cooling Gel is specifically formulated to treat
chickenpox itch in small children.
This breakthrough treatment has been
clinically proven to reduce the itch, helping to avoid scratching
and possible long term scarring.
It is an easy to apply, odourless clear gel
that is non messy and rapidly absorbed. It is suitable for children
from 6 months.
See Care ViraSoothe for further
information.
